The story for the slurpers

The domaine Mas du Chêne extends over 65 hectares in Costières de Nîmes; the southernmost appellation in the Rhône Valley. Close to the Mediterranean Sea, where you can even catch a glimpse in clear weather from the small hill on which the winery is located. The vineyards have been in the hands of the Delon family since 1915. Winemaker Emmanuelle has been at the helm since 1999 and her husband Luc, who was previously a wine merchant, came on board in 2008.

Emmanuelle and Luc have a great commitment to sustainability. So no chemicals in the vineyard. To ensure biodiversity, they have planted olive trees and a forest on 15 of their 65 hectares. Some of their vineyards already have organic certification, and they are well on their way to fully organic viticulture.

The “Les Copines Adorent” is made from 100% Vermentino from vines of approximately 10 years old on a mixed soil of pebbles, stones and red clay on the right bank of the Rhône. The grapes are harvested manually and fermented naturally, after which the wine matures for six months in concrete tanks. This results in a fresh, feminine wine with a nose full of citrus and delicate white flowers. The wine is lively, fresh, structured and demands a second glass. Drink it with fruits de mer, vegetable dishes or with good company, because the name probably gives it away: friends love it!
