The story for the slurpers

Bryan MacRobert comes from South Africa's Swartland, a wine region north of Cape Town. He founded Laventura in 2013. He carefully selected a number of old vineyards and paid the most attention to agriculture and the quality of the grapes. All vineyards are farmed in a sustainable way. The grapes come from 12 different small vineyards in Villabuena. 90% is planted with viura (macabeo) and the rest consists of a number of unknown white grape varieties (including Calagraño). The juice undergoes alcoholic fermentation based on indigenous yeast cultures in large 600 liter oak barrels. The wine then matures for a year on its lees. Only 3,300 bottles of Viura are made annually.
